GSAFU Morning Report
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in its Operational Information update at 22:00 on July 7 stated that day 866 of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation against Ukraine was about to begin.
During the past day, 117 combat engagements took place. Over the past 24 hours, the enemy carried out 2 missile strikes, 68 air strikes, 362 drone strikes and more than 2,700 artillery strikes across the positions of Ukrainian forces.
At the same time, Ukrainian soldiers continue to inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying troops, exhausting the enemy along the entire front line and continue to disrupt the plans of Russian occupiers to advance deep into the territory of Ukraine.
Air Force Daily Report
On the night of July 8, 2024, the enemy attacked Ukraine with air and ground-based missiles: 4 X-101s from Tu-95MS strategic aviation aircraft (launch area - airspace of the Saratov Region - Russian Federation) and 2 Iskander-M ballistic missiles (starting areas - Kursk region - Russian Federation, Crimea).
According to the results of combat work, air defence destroyed 3 Kh-101 cruise missiles in Zhytomyr and Cherkasy regions.
Around 10 a.m., the enemy launched a combined missile attack on Ukraine using air-, sea-, and land-based missiles.
In total, according to preliminary data, Russian war criminals launched 38 missiles of various types:
- 1 Kh-47M2 "Kinzhal" aeroballistic missile;
- 4 "Iskander-M" ballistic missiles;
- 1 cruise missile 3M22 "Zirkon";
- 13 Kh-101 cruise missiles;
- 14 Kalibr cruise missiles;
- 2 Kh-22 cruise missiles;
- 3 Kh-59/Kh-69 guided air missiles.
Anti-aircraft defence managed to destroy 30 enemy missiles:
- 1 Kh-47M2 "Kinzhal" aeroballistic missile;
- 3 "Iskander-M" ballistic missiles;
- 11 Kh-101 cruise missiles;
- 12 Kalibr cruise missiles;
- 3 Kh-59/Kh-69 guided air missiles.
Another terrorist attack on peaceful cities. Ukraine is in mourning. Condolences to the families of the victims and victims.
The Khortytsia operational-strategic group
(Responsible for the northeastern part of Ukraine. )
Kharkiv axis: The enemy conducted 3 unsuccessful assault actions supported by aviation, in the areas of Lyptsi, Starytsia and Vovchansk. 4 clashes remain ongoing.
Kupyansk axis: The enemy tried to advance 10 times against Ukrainian positions near Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Pishchane and Stelmakhivka. The situation is under control.
Pokrovsk axis: The highest intensity of combat remains in this sector. The enemy conducted 45 attacks against Ukrainian defences in this area over the last day in the vicinity of Nui York, Kalynove, Vozdvizhenka, Novooleksandrívka, Prohes, Yevhenívka, Novoselivka Persha and Yasnobrodivka. 13 combat clashes are still ongoing.
Ukrainian forces shoot down another Russian Su-25 jet
The Khortytsia Operational Strategic Group reported on Telegram that anti-aircraft gunners of Ukraine's 110th Separate Mechanised Brigade have shot down a Russian Su-25 attack aircraft in Donetsk Oblast.
"Our Ukrainian troops have shot down a Russian Su-25 aircraft, which was attacking the positions of the defence forces, on the Pokrovsk front.
The anti-aircraft gunners of the [110th] Separate Mechanised Brigade named after Lieutenant General Mark Bezruchko have destroyed another Su-25 attack aircraft, which is now burning in the steppes of Ukrainian Donbas."
Kurakhove axis: The enemy 17 times unsuccessfully attacked our positions near Krasnohorivka, Heorgievka, Paraskovievka and Konstantinivka.
Vremika axis: The Russians have committed 8 unsuccessful offensive actions near Vodânogo and Makarivka.
Orikhiv axis: The situation in this sector has not changed significantly.
Lyman axis: Russian troops attacked Ukrainian defenders14 times in the areas of Hrekivka, Makiivka, Nevske and Terny. 2 attacks are ongoing.
Siversk axis: Russian forces carried out 2 unsuccessful assaults in the vicinity of Verkhnokamianske
Kramatorsk axis: The enemy attacked nine times near the settlements of Hyrhorivka, Kalynivka and Chasiv Yar, all attacks were suppressed.
Toretsk axis: The situation in this sector has not changed significantly.
The Tavria operational-strategic group
(Responsible for the central-eastern and southeastern part of Ukraine.)
Pokrovsk axis: The highest intensity of combat remains in this sector. The enemy conducted 45 attacks against Ukrainian defences in this area over the last day in the vicinity of Nui York, Kalynove, Vozdvizhenka, Novooleksandrívka, Prohes, Yevhenívka, Novoselivka Persha and Yasnobrodivka. 13 combat clashes are still ongoing.

Massive Russian missile attack on Kyiv, Ukraines largest Children’s Hospital struck
Russia launched a massive missile strike against civilian targets in Ukraines capital city of Kyiv at around 10am on the morning of July 8. Ukrainska Pravda reported.
The Okhmatdyt National Children's Specialised Hospital was struck. Volodymyr Zhovnir, General Director of the hospital said that one of the hospital buildings had been hit. They are currently organising the evacuation and relocation of everyone who was there. Sources report that there are casualties.
President Zelenskyy, who apparently arrived in Warsaw Poland this morning for meetings stated:
"The hospital has been damaged in a Russian strike, and there are people under the rubble; the exact number of injured and fatalities is unknown. Everyone is now helping to clear the rubble: doctors and ordinary people.
Russia definitely knows what its missiles are targeting and must be held fully accountable for all its crimes: against people, against children and against humanity in general. It is of paramount importance that the world does not remain silent about this and that everyone sees what Russia is and what it is doing."

The latest available figures as of 3pm on July 8 is that 10 people were killed and 35 injured in the Russian missile strike on Kyiv, and there may be people under the rubble of the Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital and a residential building in the Shevchenkivskyi district.

Russian attack on Kryvyi Rih kills 10, injures 47.
Russian forces struck the city of Kryvyi Rih in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast on July 8, according to Oleksandr Vilkul, the head of the city's military administration, The Kyiv Independent reported.
At least 10 people were killed, including six women and four men, as of 2pm the number of injured had risen to 47
The search and rescue operation is continuing, but it is being hampered by air raid alerts and reports of missiles fired in the direction of Kryvyi Rih.

Ukraine and Poland sign security agreement
On 8 July, Ukraine and Poland signed a bilateral security cooperation agreement. The signing took place during President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to Warsaw on Monday. The agreement was signed on behalf of Poland by the Polish president, Donald Tusk. Ukrainska Pravda reports.
Following his meeting with Tusk and a joint press conference, the Ukrainian president is set to meet with his Polish counterpart, Andrzej Duda.
President Zelenskyy landed in Warsaw on Monday morning, ahead of the NATO anniversary summit in Washington.
Tusk discusses the possibility of shooting down Russian missiles headed towards Poland
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said today Interfax Ukraine reported that:
“Within the framework of NATO we’ll hold talks with allies on the possibility of shooting down Russian missiles flying towards Poland over Ukraine” Tusk said

Netherlands announces additional Patriot for Ukraine and $2.1 mn to investigate crimes of Russian military
In their first foreign visit, the new Dutch Defence minister announced significant military and forensic aid to Ukraine during a trip to Kyiv on 7 July Euromaidan wrote
According to statements made by Dutch officials during a visit to Kyiv, the Netherlands has pledged to provide Ukraine with an additional Patriot air defence system and $2,1 million for forensic investigations.
Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Breckelmans and Foreign Minister Kasparo Veldkamp announced these commitments during a joint press briefing with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.
The Dutch ministers said that the provision of the air defence system will be coordinated with partner countries.
In addition to military aid, the Netherlands is allocating funds for forensic work.
MILITARY & TECH
UK provides additional AS90 Self Propelled Howitzers to Ukraine.
The Government of the United Kingdom announced a new tranche of military aid for Ukraine, which includes critically important items. The announcement on July 7, following a visit by the Defense Minister John Healey, who was appointed on July 5 after the resignation of Rishi Sunak’s government. Defense Express reports.
The new head of the Ministry of Defense promised to increase military support and emphasised that the change in government does not affect the united support for Ukraine in its resistance against russian aggression.
The new aid package includes ten AS90 self-propelled artillery units, 32 new barrels for them, and other critical spare parts. It is noteworthy that the Government of the United Kingdom had already announced the transfer of about 30 AS90 systems back in January 2023. As of July, it was reported that the training of the second group of Ukrainian artillerymen had successfully concluded, and London had not reported on similar steps since.
